My Month of Feb....
My biggest brother Corey AKA Corky went into the Navy to train to become a Navy SEAL! He left the last Tuesday of February and I wish I had a picture to post of him but I don't. So I thought I would share how talented he is......he made from scratch the guitar above! Totally cool!
We went to one of my close friends wedding. Kim Bo she is finally married off....lol! They look so cute together. This is us playing at the reception after. Mj is so funny about pictures she LOVES IT!
My Man helped one of our friends move on his Saterday....he is too sweet. I wasn;t much help....lol!

This is the friend I spoke of in the last picture~ Yes, she is pregant! She delivers only three days after me! We had to get a picture of this moment. When does that EVER happen. Thats what she gets for hanging out with me 24/7 last year.....lol!

Don't rain on my parade!
This is one of the only posts I have done without pictures. I just have to vent about having a great day and then having it rain on my head yesterday. ...lol! Darren and I got a great tax return due to my Performing School. This was great news to me not only because it would be great news to anyone but that my school has not made us any money for the three years I have ran it. Yes, sadly it only pays for itself which I can not complain at least it does that....lol! I enjoy teaching, love the arts and the children so I don't really mind that it doesn't. I guess I was just really excited that finally I was going to get paid back for some of the hard work that has went into constructing the school from nothing and for nothing. Then comes the rain....I got some devastating phone calls yesterday one that will make me have to face the very difficult task of trying to stay a float after the Spring Show this year with the school, not soon after that one I got one were I found out my stable babysitter that takes Mj when I teach can no longer take her as of Yesterday and then the last but not least was the biggest blow, the investment property that Darren got into with my brother fell through. I almost stopped answering the phone yesterday!! I know the lord will take care of us he always has. He has always helped me with the school and I did get a new babysitter easier then I thought it would be but I am really scared about the money it might take to keep this house from enveloping everything we own! This is a big trial for me ....I am not sure why. I have went through harder things it seems but I really am struggling to stay positive. I am praying for the strength to endure through this if it gets ugly! I know the lords way is not always my way .......dang it! 'If' is good hope I think....lol!

We are cleaning it up!
After 7 years of marriage and purchasing two homes we are sick of the junk we have collected and keep hidden away in the depths of the garage. So, I we are simplifying life. My mother and I were talking and she said something very profound. During the depression they saved everything right down to the glass bottles because the cost on everything to make was so much. We have come from the that generation....save everything. Funny thing is we are asked by the General Authorities to save money and buy less things. I want to try to get rid of the junk, the "items" in my life that I have carried around for WAY too long. So that I can save the "Food" I need to be saving not the junk!
Here we are cleaning the garage, being silly, while we work in the snow! It was pretty cold that day but it was fun!
Below is the end result. See the cool storage shelves from Home Depot!
Plus my super cool dance moves....lol!

My Mans Investment property!
My brother and My Man bought an investment property at the end of October of last year and stated working in it first thing in November. So they took a dumpy old house that smelled really bad and look like no one cleaned or up kept for a long time and turned into this really cute old fashioned home in 2 1/2 months. I was there a lot just to spend time with him because he was a little obsessed, even though he wouldn't admit he was. There were a few weeks there were I think I saw him a total of 5 hours all week between this house and his real job....lol. It was not very funny to me at the time but it has been fun to help out and see the changes that make this house so pretty now. The biggest stress in doing this that the house will stay on the market forever and eat up all the money (and then some) that you would make on it....but it was only on the market for 3 weeks and we already have signed papers for an offer. I was tempted to move into it. It has sooo much cute character I fell in love with it. Too much house for us right now it has 4300 sq feet! Take a look at his and my brother hard work!

A girl after my own ways!
Me when I was totally too cute (don't worry this phase doesn't last long!). I'm with my totally awesome papa that I guess went through a Josey Whales fad. I love how he always been so fashionable. When he was young he was the first one in his school to have Bell Bottoms....lol. He begged his mom to sew them from his pants they were so big you couldn't even see his shoes.
This is were the pictures of me that are 'cute' stop for a while....after this it gets pretty scary until I hit high school.
I was little girl I use to dress in layers...but not in the 'cool' way. I use to wear purple polka dot shirt with a red striped undershirt, a white lacy cowboy skirt, black shiny spandex Capri pants, tan leggings, socks and black dress shoes. Yes, I thought I was so cool ...lol. By the way, Yes, I am holding a blanket in this picture ...who knows why, I was a little eccentric.Thursday, January 22, 2009
Poetry of Shel Silverstein
I have always loved this poet. He spoke to my crazy mind when I was little I am very excited to share his books with Mj some day.
'I cannot go to school today, '
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
'I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more-that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut-my eyes are blue-
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke-
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb.
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is-what?
What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is...Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play!
Anyone wanted to use this to get out of work....Me too....lol!

Our Winterland

Mj is learning how to ride and is loving every minute of it. She knows most of the horses names and the one she is kissing is 'Princess' a sweet Welsh Pony mix that Jamiebug use to ride and resonantly gave her to my mother so the grand kids could learn to ride.Christmas in Boise. We spent one week there you'd think we'd have more pictures. Above is one of Mj's cousins and below is the very first snowman Mj helped make. We need to get more winter clothes for her. We do live in Idaho.
I love Garica's in Idaho Falls. Their bean dip is to die for. I love limes in every thing, water, chicken, tacos, Shrimp......

Merry Christmas from home of the Riley's!
I love Christmas....but who doesn't....well there are a few. I can't not tell you how becoming a mother has helped me to fully understand the Christmas story more. In this past year I have learned more about my older brother Jesus and his direct hand in my life every day and during trails. I wish sometimes that I could remember that everyday. I have to say that I love music and during this time of year, Christmas music and sign of the season. Here are a few of my favorites; music, pictures and our life this season!
I rememeber when I first saw this picture in high school. I cried, it spoke to my soul very strong. I felt I was looking at the Savor for the first time. It has helped me through some hard times.
I love the Christmas tree and I thought I would share our tree with you. Anyone that knows me knows that I love butterflies and I can't believe I found beautiful Christmas butterflies to put on my tree. Thank heavens for Tia Pan Trading!
This just reminds me of the joy of Santa and the Christmas season, My mother-in-law bought it My man and I first year married so this is very special to me.
*This is how it looks from our house today....so no one complain, I can't even walk out my door with normal shoes or drive anywhere~Mj was sick throwing up from 2:30am until 8am this morning. What a wonderful night I hope we've seen the last of it. I can only wash so many blanket...and pj's. Thank heavens for 'Pedilite'.
By the way my daughter favorite toy is a doll she calls "Daddy"(to the right above). Yes, this toy is an adult man doll that was given to me from My Man on Valentines Day. He is called "The Perfect Man" and he says all sorts of really crazy things like "Honey, I left some cash for you to go shopping with the girls today" and "Sure honey lets spend the holidays with your family again this year!" Hilarious, I know. She has always played with him more then any other toy and carries him everywhere. It's hard to explain at the Walmart Check out line....lol.
